Dr. Dung Jennifer Dang is originally from Nederland, TX. She graduated from Salus University, Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 2022 and is currently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She has a special interest in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and myopia management.
After successfully completing hours at the university’s Eye Institute in Philadelphia, she contracted her last year of externships as a road trip through locations that exposed her to a wide range of disease; mostly focused on corneal disease, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, post-operative care, and emergency optometry.
Dr. Dang received “honors” from The Eye Institute- contact lens department, Veterans Affair in Michigan, and Omaha Eye and Laser Institute. Although she loved her experiences and adventures away from home, she returned to Nederland to provide care for the community that she grew up in. Dr. Dang’s standard of care starts with listening to her patients and following through with patient education.
In her spare time, Dr. Dang works as a success coach with KMK Optometry Coaching, a trusted network focused on helping optometry students overcome board retakes. She believes her interactions within the academic environment helps remind her of why optometry is medically important. She contributes to guide students to prepare not only for their exams, but to prepare to be excellent clinicians for their future patients. She has already made an impact on providing care since she has been back. If you are in need of eyecare, please come in and let her take care of you.
